Want to make tracks for wildlife, but prefer not to run? Sign up as a volunteer and you’ll help the event run smoothly. Your services are greatly appreciated. Here are some areas that volunteers may be assigned:

  • Greeting participants
  • Helping direct traffic and parking
  • Handing out t-shirts and bibs
  • Bag check
  • Start line directors
  • Fulfillment center for fundraising prizes
  • Finish line directors
  • Serving food
  • Staffing the water stations
  • Serving as course directors

Perks include:

  • WCS Run for the Wild Volunteer t-shirt
  • Refreshments
  • General Admission to the Bronx Zoo
  • Community Service Letters

*Please note: volunteers are expected to arrive by 6 AM. Most assignments are completed between 11 - 12 PM. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the zoo for the day. Light snacks will be available and t-shirt distribution will take place prior to participant arrival.

We ask that volunteers are a minimum of 15 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a chaperone.
*Assignments + further directions will be sent by the first week of April.
